REAL WEDDING: Carly and Matthew

Carly and Matthew tied the knot on a hilltop in Collingwood on a private property overlooking lush forests and autumn leaves. For anyone who has ever imagined getting married in a field full of wildflowers, it was a dream wedding. Carly and Matthew had postponed their nuptials for two years due to Covid, and we were all very happy when the long-awaited day that we had planned and designed finally arrived!

A Hilltop Wedding in Collingwood

The ceremony was a showstopper. We asked floral designer Tanya List to adorn the existing pergola and backs of the aisles with local florals like hydrangeas, baby’s breath, Queen Anne’s lace, maple leaves, red berries, natural grasses and foliage, and of course, roses. The colours tied into the autumn hues and looked cohesive with the natural environment.

A Sophisticated Fall Wedding in the Country

The bride’s bouquet was a luscious combination of deep red, light peach, and pink hues, with the odd sprig of orange berries to tie into the fall theme. The bridesmaids were a perfectly-coordinated rainbow of autumn tones - we love mismatched bridesmaids!

CREATING A COZY COCKTAIL RECEPTION IN A SHED!

We created a cozy space for cocktail hour in an industrial shed and it was definitely a hit! We softened the hard lines by installing a ceiling of overgrown foliage, and created an inviting soft seating area with velvet armchairs, sofas and coffee tables topped with tea lights and bud vases. Not having a water hook-up was no problem - Tipsy Turny Trailer, our favourite mobile bar, was there serving drinks to all the happy guests. It was the perfect laid-back and cozy space for mixing and mingling, and a very unique and fun setting for everyone.

A BEAUTIFUL TENTED WEDDING in AUTUMN IN ONTARIO

Dinner was held under a tent that we had erected for the festivities. We installed a wood dance floor nestled in the grass, hung fairy lights, and had more floral ceiling installations hung to really make the tent feel warm and inviting. Boho details lined the tables with pops of colour in napkins, blue goblets, dehydrated orange place cards, and of course, mismatched ceramic vases filled with incredible fall blooms.

From the laid-back vibes of this wedding it is not immediately obvious how much planning went into it! That is our specialty! With three different event spaces, it was very rewarding creatively and organizationally to bring it all to life, and then ensure the day flowed seamlessly. It didn’t hurt that it was held on the most beautiful land! Planning and designing this wedding for Carly and Matthew was a pleasure. If you are planning your own wedding and need help with the complex logistics involved with creating a wedding space out of basically nothing, please reach out, we’d be happy to hear from you!
