Everything You Need To Know About The 2021 Sephora Holiday Preview
At Mad Bash Group, we love working on corporate events, branded content creation and brand activations, which is something you may not know about us! Most people think we focus entirely on wedding planning and design, but that couldn't be farther from the truth.
Recently Mad Bash Group produced an exciting brand activation for Sephora Canada that you won't want to miss. We had the opportunity to design Sephora Canada’s 2021 Holiday Media Preview Digital Launch which included a website, product photoshoot and mailer. Today we are highlighting some of our favourite aspects of this project.
How do you create a virtual corporate event?
In the past, we have worked on Sephora Canada’s Holiday Media Preview by hosting influencer events as a part of their Holiday Preview campaign. This year it's no secret that COVID-19 hindered the possibility for in-person gatherings and the events industry as a whole, but further to this, a digital experience would make it possible to reach media and influencers across Canada. The virtual event experience included four distinct aspects- Video, Mailer, Website and Photoshoot.
We produced a welcome video, a video all about best holiday gift choices with Pro Artist Kevin Truong and a DIY ornament tutorial. Inside their mailer they received all the supplies to create their own ornament to glam up their home or gift to someone else. Every aspect of the video production from on camera talent to editing and music was produced by our team.
Branded Digital Content Creation With Bold, Colourful Images
The next step was the Photoshoot. The aesthetic for the photoshoot was elegant holiday glam. The design featured signature Sephora red, rich pink, and other gorgeous jewel tones. We crafted pillars of varying heights and sizes in each colour and metallics to match the products. The gift sets' textures, sizes, and contents dictated how they would be styled. Robyn from our team art directed the shoot and we worked with Rachel Reid and played with layers, angles and lighting, which took this brand activation to a whole new level and helped us capture our vision for Sephora's 2021 Holiday Preview. Corporate mailers make guests feel considered from the comfort of home
Before the digital hub launched, guests and media received their mailer which came complete with a massive chocolate smash heart. Once you smashed it open, you’d find the passcode to the website inside! Further to this, they received some Sephora products, a toast and vintage glassware and their DIY ornament kit. Here are some mockups of the box and the insert. It came together beautifully.
Lastly, the digital hub or website was where all of these aspects came together. Media were invited to the hub with a passcode and a launch date/time and once they entered, the hub contained all the video, photos and more for them to explore. Kendall from our team and from Its Okay Studio managed all the graphic design for the printed mailer and for the website. What she created was colourful, on brand and seamless. We collaborated tirelessly with the Middle Child team to ensure that all branding was on point and in line with Sephora guidelines. Take a look at the seamless digital hub.
