COSSETTE SUMMER PARTY

Cossette, a marketing and communications agency with some of the most talented minds in the country, wanted to throw a super creative summer party for their staff. They wanted to get people thinking, I want to work for Cossette, so they came to us to help plan something fun and vibey that would reflect their workplace culture! Booking Toronto hotspot Bandit Brewery, with their fantastic front patio gazing out onto Dundas, was an instant win, and we added some fun touches to give it some extra spark!

A SUMMER PARTY INSPIRED BY the BRAND’s style guide

We started with Cossette’s brand guidelines, which were bold, playful, and inspired so many ideas. With black and white brand colours, metallic design elements and brand iconography, we had a lot to work with. We designed and built a geometric welcome installation modelled on their brand icons. The Cossette team still wanted their party to be colourful (it was summer after all!) so we paired the welcome signs with colourful blooms in bold, electric shades.

A MASSIVE COLOURING WALL FOR WORKPLACE FUN

Another fun moment for this party was a 12’ colouring wall! The artwork was designed by the Cossette team and worked in some client mentions, brand imagery, and dare I say, inside jokes?! and it was super playful. We printed and mounted the massive colouring wall on our backdrop flats, brought the markers, and enjoyed!

A NEON LIGHT AND SILVER FOIL FRINGE DJ BOOTH

When we first saw that Cossette embraces metallic and reflective design elements in their brand guidelines, we of course instantly thought Silver. Foil. Fringe. Curtain. An instant party classic, if you style them right, these things never get old. Paired with a custom neon sign inscribed with one of Cossette’s company values, we transformed a simple bar set up into something worthy of a dance floor. We also helped Cossette choose their DJ and ensured the A/V set up would be taken care of for them.

SWEET AND DESSERT TABLES IN COMPANY COLOURS

Sweets tables were our thing in 2023. Finding all the best candies in a brand’s colours is one of those tasks that makes you wonder how is this a real job? With metallic Hershey’s kisses, white yogurt pretzels, chocolatey black desserts, and colourful jellybeans and macarons for some punch, we had a ball setting up this baby.

INJECTING COLOUR INTO A BLACK AND WHITE COLOUR SCHEME

We worked with florists extraodinaire Blush and Bloom to bring some hip and colourful floral moments to the party, including a large trailing bar piece with vibrant red roses and anthurium, and bright blue baby’s breath. Combined with colourful pillar candles and geometric signage, the bar was fun and punchy and took the event from regular after-work drinks to summer staff party!

LIVEN UP A PATIO TABLE WITH FUNKY SHAPES AND FLORALS

We also used florals and candles to spruce up Bandit Brewery’s massive outdoor patio! We chose colourful transparent and reflective acrylic vases in geometric shapes, and used funky florals in bold colour combinations. Bright flowers with lots of contrast are a great way to inject colour into a black and white colour scheme while still honouring the brand’s story. We then printed custom stickers of the brand’s icons and pasted them onto the vases, mixed in some more colourful pillar candles, and voilà! we had ourselves a splashy patio party.
