REAL WEDDING: LAURA AND KILEY

Laura and Kiley got married on their family’s private estate in Muskoka, Ontario. The design for this stunning tent wedding was inspired by their cherished Victorian lakeside home where the day was full of vintage cottage charm, country gardens, and new twists on old traditions!

A classic chURch ceremony for this Muskoka wedding

The day began at beautiful Windermere United Church where the couple emerged as newlyweds under the showers of a traditional petal toss. The party then walked down the street as a group with a bag piper in tow to the main dock, where the newlyweds boarded a restored wooden “getaway boat” decorated with a Just Married flag and florals. Guests waved vintage handkerchiefs to send them off!

Back at the family’s property for the reception the party gathered by the lakeside tent where our team used sage green, soft pastels, and vintage touches to create the feeling of a fresh, heirloom-filled family cottage. Many of the florals used were lovingly grown by the property’s gardener, were then harvested with the florist, and set atop custom vintage linens.

We also created a soft seating and photo area with vintage furniture which featured one of our favourite details - signs made from vintage oil paintings. We had them inked in white calligraphy creating charming welcome signs, seating charts and bar menus - perfecting the laid-back, vintage cottage vibe. All paper goods also featured prints of the family’s original oil paintings of the heritage buildings on their property.

When night fell, the tent came alive with hundreds of fairy lights glittering like stars under a canopy and a live band played killer tunes that immediately filled the dance floor. The family made homemade pies of every flavour for a late-night pie bar and the after party was fuelled with pizza, sushi, and night diving into the lake!
