REAL WEDDING: HILARY AND DAN
Hilary and Dan got married at the iconic Globe & Mail Centre on labour day weekend and we like to call this wedding “a modern boho, midnight jungle”.
PLANNING a post-COVID wedding with a jungle inspired design
After a long-awaited 2 years, Hilary and Dan finally got to have the party of their dreams to celebrate their nuptials with their friends and family who couldn’t be there to celebrate during Covid. With a guest count of 250 people, friends and family from all over the globe came together to celebrate, drink, dance and party the night away!
A wedding CEREMONY with a view of Toronto
Guests were first welcomed to a non-traditional ceremony in which the couples siblings “officiated” by walking guests through their epic love story. Since Hilary and Dan got married in an intimate ceremony during Covid, this was a way to still allow guests to partake in the ceremony but one that didn’t feel repetitive to the couple. The room was filled with live music by the St. Royals trio who uniquely played electric strings as an unconventional alternative that surprised guests!
MODERN BOHO MIDNIGHT JUNGLE wedding
When it came to decor, Hilary and Dan wanted unconventional elements paired with modern meets boho. LED pixel tubes were a focal point in the decor and were weaved throughout the ceremony and reception space. Florals played a big factor in the overall aesthetic filling the tables with lush, elongated arrangements full of textural greens and pops of purple and pink hues. Suspended above guests tables + the dance floor were gold beams covered in trailing greens and pixel tubes that went from warm and inviting during dinner, to colourful and club-like for the after party!
All signage mimicked the same shape and style while interchanging throughout their colour scheme. As a nod to the couple’s love for travel, It’s Okay Studio designed postcards of some of their favourite places that guests were able to sign and deposit into a mailbox for the couple to look back on for years to come.
To really get the party going, guests were treated to a surprise show by Jestr the 12ft robot who lit up the dance floor with C02 smoke guns and moving lights to amp up the dance floor.
