REAL WEDDING: ZOË AND JEREMY
Imagine getting married at the Halloween party of your dreams! This was Zoë and Jeremy’s vision for their wedding - moody, gothic, with artful halloween decor, and of course, costumes! This stunning autumn wedding hit all the right notes - gorgeous deep colours, a portrait session in the fall foliage, the most stunning bridal bouquet from Flower Treasures, and a fun Halloween party with the entire family in costume!
A HALLOWEEN-THEMED COCKTAIL-STYLE WEDDING AT GRACE VENUE
Zoë and Jeremy’s wedding ceremony and reception took place at Grace venue, where the exposed brick walls, chandeliers, and sophisticated industrial vibe felt right for the occasion. We erected a chuppah, draped it in black velvet, decorated with florals, candles, a red Persian-style rug, and rented ornate black furniture to fill the space. In-house Toben catered the cocktail reception, and Zoë and Jeremy decided to skip the formal sit-down meal in order to save on seating layout changes, rentals, and focus on hosting a Halloween rager!
SOPHISTICATED, MOODY, GOTHIC WEDDING DECOR
As you can imagine, it was so much fun to make decor choices for this wedding! We wanted a sophisticated, moody, gothic vibe, with fun and unexpected surprises that kept the tone lighthearted. We had the most insane 3D pumpkins carved, stunning bouquets made of black calla lilies, dark red roses and trailing amaranthus, and we hung black witches hats from the ceilings, because why not!?
SMOKE MACHINES FOR A DRAMATIC WEDDING CEREMONY
To evoke an eerie fairytale atmosphere, we ran smoke machines when guests entered the venue, and during the ceremony to surround the Chuppah. Beams of light passing through the fog can create dramatic shadows, making it a great tool for adding a sense of mystery and suspense to any setting!
GOURMET HALLOWEEN-THEMED COCKTAILS
Well-known Toronto mixologists Bar Chef created a gourmet cocktail experience for the event, including a Cacao & Maple Old Fashioned with bourbon, muddled orange, vanilla, chamomile, saffron bitters and rosemary, and also a Coconut & Absinthe Sour with absinthe, coconut rum, lemon, egg white, vanilla, pineapple, grapefruit zest and edible flower petals. Delicious and spooky!
A FUN HALLOWEEN PARTY WITH THE ENTIRE FAMILY IN COSTUME
Zoë and Jeremy’s Halloween wedding was a unique and unforgettable way to celebrate the union of two individuals who share a love for all things spooky and magical. It was so uplifting to see the couple change into their costumes (Princess Buttercup and Wesley from The Princess Bride in case you are wondering!), and see literally everyone including the grandparents, great aunts and uncles, in costume - in fact they often had the best ones! Creating a sense of mystery and seeing the couple and all their family and friends be caught in the sense of wonderment was so rewarding for us as planners. The creative possibilities for a Halloween-themed wedding are endless, and autumn weddings in general are gorgeous and an opportunity for all sorts of seasonal autumn decor. So why not embrace the haunted season and let your imagination run wild when planning your own Halloween-themed wedding?
