KNIX AMBASSADORS SUMMIT
As a female-led, Toronto-based company, the iconic Canadian lingerie brand Knix is a dream client for us here at Mad Bash. Having made a name for themselves internationally by innovating and popularizing leak-proof underwear, it’s safe to say that Knix products have risen to the level of essential in most women’s wardrobes!
Needless to say, we were thrilled to be engaged in an Event Design capacity for their Knix Ambassadors Summit. Hosted in their beautiful multi-level office, the Knix team wanted to transform parts of their space into beautiful and welcoming places for education, conversation, and connection. Three elements were needed for the function: a welcome archway, a chic stage design, and an intimate post-event dinner party with a stunning tablescape, and it was up to us to design and fabricate them.
SIMPLE AND EYE-CATCHING STAGE DESIGN
The most important space, where guests would be spending most of their day, was Knix’s open concept meeting space. Designed with built-in seating raised along a staircase, it looks downward onto an empty floor where speakers can be well heard and seen. It was the perfect place for a conference, but it needed a simple stage to centre the room. So we designed a peach-coloured backdrop with the Summit lockup in black, and flanked it with two organically-shaped pink ombre panels. Two floral applications, with blooms in sunset colours and hanging green amaranth, were added for extra eye candy. We delineated the stage space by applying an organically shaped floor vinyl in a pink and pale purple gradient. In-house chairs and side table were utilized and they worked rather well with the look! We popped a bud vase onto the table and we were ready to go!
The stage was very pleasing to gaze upon, and after the summit programming was over, guests lingered, catching up, and taking photos in front of the backdrop. It ended up being the perfect focal point for the gathering!
A delightful double-sided entry and exit archway
When guests first walked out of the elevator doors into Knix headquarters, they were met with this charming peach coloured arch which led them into the summit space! Tall enough to pass through and wide enough to centre on the staircase down to the stage, this double-sided archway elicited a number of oohs and aahs! We designed and built this baby custom so we were very pleased with the response. Crawling up from the base of both sides of the arch were modern florals in sunset colours, courtesy of Knix’s and Mad Bash’s friends Blush and Bloom, and creating a very dreamy and luscious event entry!
a dreamy pastel tablescape
After the summit programming, all participants moved to the Knix dining space for an intimate meal. Gorgeous raw silk table linens in lilac covered the tables, and were lined with peach and coral taper candles in black holders. Each place was set with custom laminated placemats in the brand’s gradient, and with the Knix logo and guest’s name. The table was set with beautiful tan-coloured hand-painted chargers, sleek black cutlery and smoked gold-rimmed stemware. Each place setting was topped with a branded menu and coral linen napkin. Small, delicate florals in an array of light pinks, peaches, lilac and chartreuse, suitable for the narrow tables, were arranged, and at the dining room entrance we placed dreamy statuesque floral arrangements.
TABLE TALKERS FOR SUMMIT and conference networking
Intertwined atop the dining tables we planted a variety of table talker cards, ideal for facilitating conversation between guests who most likely have a lot in common but may not have met before. We also handled all of Knix’s printed needs by designing and printing their agenda and lanyards.
a feminine, fresh, and on trend colour palette
The colour palette that we worked with was provided by Knix and was absolutely magical - being surrounded by it all day was joyful and calming. As usual we designed down to the last detail, and requested that any floral greenery be a bright, not dark, green, so that it would fit with the palette. The “popsicle” pastel colour scheme was feminine, fresh and on trend, and guests were attracted to the installations and tablescapes, capturing them for social content and sharing their experience online.
