REAL WEDDING: RACHAEL AND LINDSAY
Rachael and Lindsay fell in love exploring local galleries together, so it only seemed fitting that they hosted their wedding at one of Toronto’s iconic locations for art lovers - The Gardiner Museum. This blank canvas that boasts floor-to-ceiling windows was the perfect backdrop for our team to create a vibrant and eclectic soiree for these two lovers.
Gorgeous and trendy LGBTQ Toronto Wedding
The pair glammed up together at the Hazelton Hotel with their nearest and dearest but saved their final ensembles for the first look. With fashion being an important part in both the couples lives it was important to them that their wedding embodied great style, from the outfits to the decor.
Before heading to the venue, the couple sported their looks downtown for a cool and effortless portrait session with husband and wife duo, Whim and Willow which included their beloved dog Delilah! With Lindsay in a custom Natasha Espinoza suit from Gotstyle and Rachael in a Sash + Bustle off-the-shoulder dress the two certainly made a mark on the bustling streets of Toronto that day!
vintage Pink and Orange wedding ceremony
For the ceremony, our team custom created multi-layered vibrant panels that could later be repurposed as a backdrop behind the head table that hosted the couples iconic sign “Til Death”. We paired the backdrop with an eclectic mix of mismatched vintage chairs for the perfect combination of mid-century meets eclectic.
As a nod to the couples love of galleries, we created a colour blocked gallery wall-inspired seating chart that incorporated some of the couples miniatures they’ve collected over the years. This was a showstopper as guests entered the space and one which was a talked about throughout the entire night! Alongside the seating chart another thoughtfully curated display piece was a vintage cabinet filled with miniature hand painted canvas’ that Lindsay’s mother individually created. Not only was this a perfect nod to the venue setting but also a sentimental takeaway for each guest.
Colourful toronto museum wedding design ideas
Finally, after flipping the space from ceremony to reception we revealed the most vibrant, eclectic and alternative setting for guests to dine and dance. We paired wood textures with velvet and organic linen accents for a warm, vintage feel that allowed florals by The Wild Pansy to take centre stage on the tables. Pops of peach, orange, raspberry and Bordeaux were incorporated into bloom heavy and lush garden-inspired centerpieces that guests were able to take home at the end of the evening.
One of our most favourite elements of this wedding was a big, bright neon sign that read “Til Death”. Today, the memory of their wedding day lives on in that neon sign hanging above the bar in the couples kitchen, and it’s the perfect centrepiece for all the wild gatherings yet to come.
