REAL WEDDING: SOFIE AND COLIN
Sofie and Colin’s romantic June wedding set the bar high for our 2024 wedding season! With an outdoor ceremony at the historic Spadina Museum, a reception at The Boulevard Club on Toronto’s shores of Lake Ontario, impeccable style and timeless decor, this wedding was splendidly fresh, chic, and elegant.
Spring Wedding Ceremony at Spadina Museum
The historic Spadina Museum is an early 20th century mansion located next to Casa Loma in midtown Toronto. Before their wedding, Sofie and Colin did their first look and took some beautiful wedding portraits in the garden with their photographer Frances Rose West. The photos are like something out of a Jane Austen novel - romantic and timeless. Sofie had incredible taste with a stunning Monique Lhuillier gown and Something Bleu pumps, and the bridal party looked equally amazing with their blue and green floral jacquard gowns. After taking photos, the wedding party made their way to the large lawn and, blessed with beautiful weather, tied the knot!
FRESH AND FRENCH GARDEN WEDDING RECEPTION
After the ceremony at Spadina Museum, the guests enjoyed the beautiful day and mixed and mingled on the lawn for a little while. To make the commute to The Boulevard Club reception easier for everyone, buses were organized to transport the guests across town and down to the lake. Sofie and Colin wanted to bring the French garden party vibes with them to the country club, so we helped them pull together a timeless and chic look for their reception. We paired vintage floral salad plates with olive green water goblets, and chose an elegant floral tablecloth for the head table. Florals were kept fresh and simple, with white delphiniums, roses, and hydrangeas, and delicate green springs. We then added green grapes and pears to keep things feeling current and abundant, then stepped back and took a minute to admire how chic and elegant the ballroom looked!
CLASSIC WEDDING viBES AND A Vintage PIPED cake
Guests arrived to The Boulevard Club and were treated to champagne and passed canapes on the verandah overlooking Lake Ontario. They were then invited into the ballroom for an evening of dinner, dancing, and speeches. To close out the evening, Sofie and Colin cut a beautifully piped vintage white wedding cake, which fit perfectly with the aesthetic and provided just the right amount of drama.
